Introduction to Rangpur Division
Rangpur Division is one of the eight divisions in Bangladesh. It is located in the northern part of the country and borders India to the north. The division was established on January 25, 2010, and is the newest division in Bangladesh.
History of Rangpur Division
Before the establishment of Rangpur Division, the area was known as Greater Rangpur. It was a part of the former Rajshahi Division. In 1984, the Rangpur region was divided into the districts of Rangpur, Dinajpur, and Kurigram. Later, in 1992, Nilphamari and Lalmonirhat districts were created. Finally, in 2010, the Rangpur Division was established.
